About Us
The Taunton Housing Authority was established in 1948 to provide safe, decent and affordable housing opportunities in the City of Taunton and we remain passionate about this mission. We are committed to providing opportunities to people who experience barriers to housing because of income, disability or special needs, in an environment that preserves personal dignity, and in a manner that maintains the public trust.
A primary goal of the Taunton Housing Authority is to not only provide housing for low-income households, but also to improve housing and economic opportunities for residents through our programs. We want to help our residents to not only live, but thrive, under our roofs.
We accomplish this goal alongside our mission to deliver high standards of property management, fiscal management and service delivery.
Featured Program
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program is a 5-year voluntary employment and savings incentive HUD program offered to Taunton Section 8 voucher holders. The purpose of the Family Self-Sufficiency program (FSS) is to offer an opportunity for families to access supportive services that will enhance their achievement of economic independence through education, financial literacy, job training and more.
We believe that we should give families, who are willing to work hard, the chance to earn a better life by providing them with the opportunity to participate in a rigorous program aimed at self-sufficiency. Benefits include increased earned income and the ability to save with our ESCROW program, goal setting life skills and much more.
