WALES STREET - SPECIAL NEEDS HOUSING
This supportive housing property was built under Chapter 689, Housing for People with Special Needs. The day-to-day operation of the Wales Street property is managed by staff from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation (DMR). The THA has a longstanding Memorandum of Understanding with DMR which allows DMR the use of the site as a group home for adults with developmental disabilities. Wales Street is a duplex style building with each side having four one-bedroom units and is staffed 24 hours a day.
